About Friends of Hue Foundation and Ao Dai Festival
Based in San Jose, Friends of Hue Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit with tax ID 77-0543081. Founded in 1999, Friends of Hue Foundation is a charity that provides disaster relief in Vietnam and San Jose, and is committed to providing social and financial support to meet the needs of the local Vietnamese-American population. Friends of Hue was led by local activist Jenny Do for over 2 decades until her recent passing in 2022.
In 2011, Jenny Do started up the Ao Dai Festival as an event that brings together a group of artists and social activists using art to affect positive social change. The festival aims to promote Vietnamese culture and arts for generations to come. In 2016, the California Senate recognized May 15 as Áo Dài Day to honor Vietnam’s traditional dress. In line with this long tradition, Friends of Hue will host the 6th Áo Dài Festival in 2023. We aim to carry on Jenny Do’s dream and mission.
All donations, ticket sales and sponsorships should be made to Friends of Hue Foundation. We will send a letter of thanks to your email.
